What a perfect time of year to improve your game! If you are a beginner or a player who wants a “refresher” on the basics of the game of golf, then the summer adult clinic programs are for you. Call the golf shop or view the “clinics” section of the website for further information. For those of you who are interested in new equipment, the golf shop just received the new Taylormade Fitting Cart. Keep your eyes posted for upcoming fitting dates or call the golf shop directly to get fit like the pros.
2008 Summer Golf Promotions
July 1st – September 30th
Members Play Free!
· Members (Lakes and Golf) play free when they bring outside guests to play.
· The green fee charge may be split between the 2 golfers at the time of check-in.
· The outside guest may not be a Member or resident of Colonial Country Club.
Members Children/Grandchildren play free!
· Children/Grandchildren 15 years of age or younger play free
after 3:00 p.m.
· Must be accompanied by a Golf or Lakes Member
· One Child/One Member per cart
Public 2 for 1
· All public players will receive 2 for 1 green fees
after 1:00 p.m. 18 Holes only.
2008 Summer Clinic Series
· $100 includes 4 one-hour clinics
· Or $30 per individual clinic
· P.G.A. Professional Instruction
· Clinics are designed specifically for beginners or golfers looking to refresh the basics

Thursdays 3-4 p.m.
Clinic rotations will start on July 17th.
No Clinic August 21st.

Clinic Outline
Classes will be conducted over 4 weeks of 60 minutes duration each week.
Lesson 1:
- Welcome, staff introductions and complete Participant Registration Form
- Student introductions and goal setting for clinic series
- Golf club terminology – grip, shaft, club head terms, etc.
- Safety – where to stand, practice swings, etc.
- How to practice
- Stretching – importance and how
- Set up to finish demonstration
- ½ swing in balance
Lesson 2:
- How to mark a ball on the green
- How to fix a pitch mark
- Golf hole terminology
- Order of play and ready golf
- Explain numbers on the clubs
- When to use woods and irons
- Introduce club fitting
- Putting – length of stroke = distance
- Review of lesson #1
- Back swing fundamentals
- Full swing and rhythm
- Finish and balance
- Drills
Lesson 3:
- How to fix a divot
- Ball flight terminology
- Club fitting importance
- How to rake a bunker
- Chipping – purpose and technique
